Okay, he has the 5th highest winning percentage of ANY coach in the history of the SEC including ahead of both Nick Saban and Bear Bryant.

Is that still arbitrary asswipe?

and what did that get him? He threw the bait out there and got shot down. He's still looking for a coach. Yeah good job Long. Who is he trolling next while he still doesn't have a coach?

LO-fricking-L. Just like a lot of coaches can easily win 11 games at Florida

As long as numbers are kept up, I agree.

I like it. I have come to terms with the fact that their isn't a better coach out on the market that would fit at LSU. He likes it here, has done a great job. He has 6, 10 win seasons out of 8 years. Not sure how many current SEC coaches can say that currently. He gets the job done, and it seems like he is finally getting a clue on offense although the Tigers are still VERY predictable on the offensive side.

I don't think the extention really matters at this point. As long as he keeps LSU where it's at he will remain as coach. For instance, if his contract was up at the end of the year it is not like Alleva wouldn't try to re-sign him with or without Arky offer.

Saban set the foundation? Look, LSU is a great job, but I'm thinking you guys could do better than Les.

maybe but doubtful overall - very few coaches can win 80% of the games they play at a SEC school

Les Miles = 87.2%
Nick Saban = 86.8%

Did I miss something?

I guess I'm having trouble keeping up with your timeline. It was career wise then three years.

Im glad we extended Les' contract. Atleast we know we will recruit well and compete with National Powers each season. With a good offensive coordinater we will be even stronger. I just hope he moves to be stronger on that part of his staff.

+1. Need to hire an OC of the equivalent of Chavis

I don't think Les is willing to give up full control of the offense. He is always going to have his hand in the O, which is why it looks eerily similar, from the tard that was previously the OC to Stud/Krags.

Only real difference is the situational playcalling. The sets, etc are still there.

I am happy. The man wins, doesn't cheat while winning and he handles most situations with class. His press conferences are fun to watch also.

I hope he stays for at least 10 more years.

I'm happy with it. You could not guarantee that if Les were to leave that we could get another coach to either sustain or make us better. We could have ended up with a Zook or Dooley and then fans would bitch about how LSU let Les go.
