What do sacks have to do with 3rd and Chavis
So yes i can understand how you are confused.
ASU was not a great team ya'll said so a million times over. They barely beat Cal Poly last night

miles shut it down after getting an 11 point lead at halftime.
that's amazing. i can see why chief left. miles set steele up for failure as well.

2014 MSU 302 yards rushing vs. LSU (Prescott 105) MSU wins in Tiger Stadium
2015 MSU 43 yards rushing vs. LSU (Prescott -19) LSU wins on the road

Can you just answer my question please.
What does 3rd and Chavis mean?
3aC Goes like this. You are winning because your team played great dominant defense all game. Then on third and a mile, when the game is on the line and the chance that the opposing offense will convert is less than 5%....you find it is now 50/50.

The difference between LSU and A&M.

miles went conservative too early and put the defense in a bad spot that almost cost them the game against an inferior opponent.
more than likely would have if not for a delay of game penalty.
you made sure to contain the running game at the expense of the pass defense. duh.
steele did a good job, but miles put him in a bad spot. not the first time we've seen that.

Ironically, last year CHAVIS'S shitty game plan put MILES in a bad spot.....and Miles opened up the offense too late and almost pulled it out against a superior opponent.

wow...
maybe having the weakest set of DTs in the west and a young defense had something to do with that.

MSU with 1 3rd down conversion in the 4th quarter
that's because they kept converting on 1st and 2nd...

Miles has his faults that are well known, but he also has one of the best winning percentages in the nation, multiple SEC titles, a National Championship, as well as having decimated Aggie 4 times in a row. Just what sort of point do you have to make about Les Miles abilities as a coach? What doth the nail protest to the hammer?

I know, right? Bo Pelini won a fricking NC for us with that great defense in 2007, but his team gave up 70 points to Wisconsin in the Big Ten CG. Nobody likes to give up a lot of points, but one horrible game doesn't define a career. And, by the way, that same WVU team that scored 70 on Clemson also put up 550+ yards (albeit "only" 21 points) on the 2011 LSU defense, which was one of the greatest in recent years.

The next time YOU (aggy) see that will be the first. I love to see a fan base who has never beaten Les Miles talk about him like this, especially after a win when everyone on this board was picking us to lose.

Well, it turned out that, yes, it was a little too early. ALMOST. But if we are going to charge Miles with the games he almost lost, then it's only fair to give him the ones he almost won. Or, we could just look at the record...1-0 versus a schedule that is 100% on the road against ranked opponents.
