LSU is a powerhouse and an important part (and founding member) of the SEC.

Why would they even go to a second rate conference like the Big 12?

I disagree with the implications being interesting, unless one finds fantasy particularly interesting.

Also LSU is big enough to not get bullied by utex

Ooook...sure. If Oklahoma can't stand up to the sips, then there's no way that LSU will be able to. Heck, LSU has convinced themselves that they continually get crapped on by Bama/REC. Bama/REC ain't got nothing on the sips.

Of course this is fact.

But since DS went full out T, OP makes a legit point. IF the big12 was saveable ( which it's not in a legit way) then it would be a negative for LSU to leave, which won't happen

When Nebraska joined the Big 12 they were the 2 time defending NC with very deep pockets, AAU membership, and were arguably the strongest football program in CFB. Texas wasted little time in kicking them in the teeth and making them into their bitch, starting with not allowing partial qualifiers and clamping down on Nebraska's walkon program. On their way out the door to the Big 1G, Texas helped to make sure Nebraska got kicked out of the AAU as well with their former President who was Chair of the AAU Robert Berdahl.

OU is one of the most successful CFB teams in history and Texas has also made them into their bitch.

You can't join the Big 12 and defy Texas, they own the show. The key is the league is loaded with teams that can't survive without the Big 12 (meaning they can't leave unless they go to a lesser conference) and Texas holds them all by the nuts.

You just think Bama is a bully, Bama is peaches and ice cream. The reason the SEC works is even if Bama is the most powerful in some ways there are half a dozen other schools that are nearly as strong if not stronger in many other ways. No one school can truly bully all the rest, they have to work together.

and yet, i can still get into an argument with aggies where they claim that they now have a better football program than texas now.

I've always found this interesting. OU generally dominates t.u. on the field, yet t.u. is still in charge. I guess money really does rule the world. Any of you that have ideas of any future expansion including Texas had better think again. Arky, TAMU, and Mizzou will put up a fight to keep them out. They're poison to whatever conference they're in.....might as well make it a lesser one.

Hard to say OU dominates when Texas leads, 59–43–5.

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of B12 fans on the WV and Shaggybevo boards are reading this thread and getting out their jars or container of choice. It fits right in with their view of the world. They think they're going to get Arkansas to defect too.
