His recruiting is what lead to having to start Godchaux and Lacouture as freshmen.

Brick was to D-linemen development at LSU as Chavis was to linebacker development.

Is Mizzou hiring him? He's awful. Really.

Texas fans seem to have a different opinion.

They seemed to think he was a good recruiter and they lead the Big 12 in sacks/game in both of his years there and led in TFL last year

Interesting.

Maybe he turned it around.

BS! Many saw his lifetime W-L marks as HC, that Brees and LT, Michigan players, Randle El make anyone look good, or that John Harbaugh put him to the curb mid-season then took flight to a SuperBowl win..for a reason.

And knew Les was throwing a friend a bone(and was gambling his very own future on him)..

We're called Negatigers!

IDK, they may just run a more pressure oriented scheme.

Wasn't that a gripe with Chavis?

Haley seems to be a fine man. at LSU, he struggled mightily with recruiting D linemen; it seemed he came in second all the time. as a result, coupled with Chavis' view of bend, don't break, LSU's front 7 went to hell. they sucked at rushing the passer and were very soft up the middle. one has to look not further than the aggie defense this year; that's exactly what LSU looked like when Haley and Chavis were here (after the first 3 years)

who was responsible? no doubt Chavis had a lot of blame but Haley's recruiting was mediocre, at best. chavis did not recruit after he'd been at LSU for a few years. the man mailed it in yet still manages to secure a guaranteed 5 million dollar contract from a&m. he'll be at his farm in east Tennessee soon.

You'll finish second for an astounding number of good prospects and your DL won't learn any technique whatsoever

He does seem to be a genuinely nice guy, and players and other coaches like him

Not a good teacher. Lazy coach on practice field. Always seemed to be second choice on his and Chiefs top targets EVERY year!

Thought he did a good job @ State, under Croom.

If there was a lone bright spot during the croom years it was our DL.

Haley had LSU finishing top 2 for maybe 30 top DL recruits while he was here. Not sure we ever finished top 1.

Decent coach, decent recruiter, great guy.
