Oral Roberts beat Oklahoma & swept Oklahoma State last year.

swept? you mean they beat them in midweek games two different times during the season. They also lost 2/3 to Auburn, an Auburn team that went 22-33. Oral Roberts is a decent small conference program, but there is no excuse for getting swept by them at home

And this year, the year that matters, they followed up their sweep of Alabama by losing three straight to "powerhouses" Minnesota, Iowa, and Hawaii

how you perform in conference play.

Of course. We're talking 30 games made up of weekend series vs good opponents vs not even 15 mid-week games. That is just stating the obvious. What happens when conference finish is even?

LSU has earned 4 national seeds the past 5 years. They've dropped games like this every year. I don't know why you try to create scenarios of what ifs. A couple of midweek games over a 56 game season is not going to be the difference in getting a national seed. The committee has made that pretty clear over the years. Sure if a team dropped half their midweek games it wouldn't be good or if they screwed around in weekend series against bad teams prior to conference play.

What does any of that have to do with LSU losing to McNeese?

I thought LSU had a high ranking in baseball, or maybe McNeese is badass.

You must not follow lsu baseball. We pitch our mediocre pitchers in midweek games to get them experience.while the teams we play want to beat us so bad that they pitch their ace. It's really not that hard to comprehend. We don't give a shite about these games. We are getting prepared to wreck shop on the sec come conference play...and that includes bama.

Damn they're getting irrelevant in all 3 sports, much like Tennessee.

mid week game yawn

I tend to agree, but it still sucks losing to a team you shouldn't. I know it's baseball, but Ole Miss lost to Georgia State last night 2-0 in 11 innings. We beat them 1-0 the night before. Our approach at the plate has been abysmal and our pitchers are throwing their asses off. It's still extremely early in the year and a lot could change, but it's frustrating to watch.

Not much else can be said. Horrible game played all around. Like 14 runners left on base. Missed hit and run strike out and throw out. Gave up 7 walks. Catcher bobbles a pitch out. Not to even talk about the home plate ump who's strike zone was all over the place!

This team has a lot of growing up to do and they better get their shite together!

Just like UNO, McNeese has a very good ball club.

The ULM baseball team also just got swept by Alabama. That isn't some ancient news from 2007. That is absolutely all.

In baseball midweek games are pretty pointless

Especially considering Bama will probably lose to worse opponents than McNeese St, and likely on the weekends

No, we suck in baseball. It's such a letdown too. I don't know why we can't be better. About the only Spring sport at Bama I think we are good at is golf.
