What the LSU administration has admitted to:

Changing the language in the contract from "between 24 and 36 months" to "between the first day of the 36th month and the last day of the 24th month"

What Chavis now has to do:

Turn over phone records that were previously held out of evidence in the case.

Seems like LSU got the better end of this deal.

Agreed. Everyone knows it's Tran5fer A&M, anyway.

How much of that money will you get? Because I'm not losing any money over it.

Looks like Chavis knew of the changes at the time they were made. Not sure if it makes a difference in the case at all.

Because lawyers love to hear themselves talk, the correct answer here is maybe.

But in reality, it's not going to make a huge difference either way, the physical language was altered, but the deal itself stayed the same and was actually clarified. Even if the judge relies on the original wording nothing is going to change.

The actual changes:

John Lombardi's name was removed when he was fired and Mark Ewing added William Jenkins' name, who replaced Lombardi on an interim basis.

Ewing changed the language regarding the buyout dates from “between 24 months to 36 months” to “between the first day of the 36th month remaining to the last day of the 24th month remaining.”

He also changed language in the buyout dates from “between 11 months and 23 months” to “between the first day of the 23rd month remaining to the last day of the 12th month.”

How about no.

It's clever. Props to them for coming up with it.

Not going to happen simply because Chavis doesn't recruit

That's the beauty of it. All those years not recruiting and when he finally does - BAM.

You should address this to the LSU AD who modified 3rd and Chavis contract after he signed it and then filed a large lawsuit against 3rd and Chavis.

Highly doubtful. Chavis will lose this lawsuit.

Altered and ratified by Chavis. tamu fricked either way. If they win and Chavis was still working for LSU in January, they'll be turned in for recruiting violations. I don't get why tamu fans are so happy about all this. Shouldn't they be scouting the intramural flag football teams for a QB?
