What you are missing here is economics of scale and the fact that the line is a "living thing".
"Why on earth would anyone ever bet on a game if their bet can be unilaterally changed by the bookie after they've placed it?"
DAMN!

I understand that the example was oversimplified with just two people betting, but the point is that if different bettors have different betting lines, just evening out the money on both sides doesn't guarantee the bookie makes money, regardless of scale. But, whatever. Bookies obviously make money so they somehow make it work.

True opened at 15, went to 16, currently at 12.5. Suspect will drop into single digits depending on volume.

Biggest misconception about sports betting.
With their overhead and cost of laying off action, a 10% gross profit margin (best case) is simply not enough.
They orchestrate lines to put money where they want it, not to balance their books.

That is really the question how many points can LSU score. I think LSU will win unless Miles goes back to three yards and cloud of dust, but I expect a close game

What overhead? Many of these books are online only

That seems high so the question is, what does Vegas know that I don't.
That as bad as LSU is, State is twice as bad. State is gonna get pounded like that fat frick Stingrays mom at the truck stop.

I wouldn't worry much. LSU probably won't even score 16. And who is this Etling guy everyone is talking about? Did he come in the game last week and complete a pass? Let me guess...suddenly he's a Heisman contender?

MSU defense can defend a dual threat QB. It's got to do with something else trust me.
maybe because you're on the road and already lost a home game to South Alabama

Not so retarded to know that secondary outside of T. White is average. Certainly not anything worthy of the self-proclaimed title of "DBU".
