Sure, blame it on the women. Just like a man.

spreads are made to get roughly equal action on both sides based on the general public's perception of how good the two teams are, it is not, in any way, a tool used to predict the winner.
The sole exception on this is when Vegas gets more money on one side (at least 60% of it) yet makes it easier for people to bet on that team (moving the line away from them, thus giving them more points or making them less of a favorite. In THAT case, you can bet vegas knows something and the team everyone is betting on is likely to lose. These are the games they make their money, they just try to break even in every other game.

This seems to be one of those games Vegas is looking to make a lot of money on. They know that everybody is going to be jumping on LSU, just like they did against Florida, but every week there are a couple of games where Vegas seems to know something we don't and they take everybody's money.
Thats not how Vegas or any book works. They could care less the winner, just enough points +/_to make 50% bet one way and 50% the other.
Pretty much. Neither Vegas nor professional gamblers intentionally gamble

I never bet on anything I can't "fold".

Huh...no really I understand what you are saying..they make the money on the juice....but a rested bama after open date and playing at home might be worth 8.5....you got to bet with your head and not your heart...that's why I never bet on LSU or The Saints.

Vegas wants 50/50 cause they stand to be a winner either way. They pay 11 to 10 on line winners, so if they have half of the money hedged on either side, they win. They don't claim to predict the winner of the game. They can only predict one winner...themselves.

Take LSu. If Bama beats LSU by more than 8 I'll eat my hat with a side of shite sandwhich.
I want LSU to win with all my heart but if they don't I want to see this. YOu don't have a hair on your arse if you don't back this up.

I'll bet LSU fans will still claim they're the best team, even after they lose next Saturday (like last year).

Depends on where you are looking. It's anywhere from the 8.5 to 10 still.

Bet the Tigers -- they will come out with the W.

I"m taking LSU and 2 or 3 interceptions by our defense. Add at least one TD on special teams.

We were terrible last year, and should have defeated the #1 tide, that was really a top 6-10 team not a national contender...
Same deal this year....watch it all unfold
