Yeah, I don't get the aTm -3 either. I'd bet the double wide on that game.

After Bama's performance this weekend, how are they so heavily favored against the OM?

USC was bigger for UGA.

True, UGA could lose then win out in conference and still go to ATL.

At the time, sure. USC had won the last 3 against UGA and it had SEC East on the line.

Unlike USC, however, LSU has been in the NC mix (relevant) for years now.

I would think that this game is bigger.

All that really needs to be said. LSU's NC 6 years ago means nothing in this game.

LSU and UGA both have more important games left on the schedule. UGA's already played a more important game.

The Cross Division games are a big deal, but they just don't have the level of importance in the national or conference championship races (though this one does happen to be an elimination game for UGA as far as an NC goes)

Fair enough. This game is important to LSU since we play East opponents worth a damn. The LSU/Bama and LSU/aTm games will be just as important when they come around.

Both teams can lose and still easily win their division.

It's a big game, but comparing it to Alabama/A&M is ridiculous.

Maybe, but comparing Bama/aTm this year to LSU/Bama '11 is beyond ridiculous....

The (a) game of the century should only be a #1 vs #2 regular season matchup.

And it should be near the end of the season when we know the teams are actually good.

But saying this is a game of the year even on that level is silliness. East/West games basically count for half what a divisional game does.

I highly doubt after this season is over that anyone outside of College Station will ever refer to the Bama-A&M game as the GotC.

uh, no. Every SEC game counts exactly the same.

Not exactly. Overall conference record is used to determine a division champion; however, one of the tie-breakers for a three-way tie involves looking only at divisional records. So if you must lose a conference game, you'd rather it be one outside your division.

Half may be stretching it, but any SEC team must sweep their divisional foes, and split the Cross Divisional games and they are guaranteed to win their division.

So no, they're not equal.

What say you? This game should have all of the hype, if not more, than the aTm/Bama game. It could potentially be the first of two games for these two teams this year.

I agree, especially after that big12 vs pac12 shootout between those two horrible defenses in college station last weekend..

There will only be 1 team undefeated in the SEC after this weekend. Mizzou loses to Arky State too.
