Looks like Richt was not the problem UGA was.

UGA's must have not allowed Richt to have 100% control.

They have a first year coach. At least let him get a couple of recruiting years in before you determine if he is better or worse than Richt. Saban went 7-6 his first year at Bama. Jump to conclusions much?

Saban followed Shula . Saban already had won a NC.

Did not say anything about Kirby you did. That's you Sunday morning shut up.

Saban took over a 6-7 team full of 3 stars that wouldn't get an offer from The bottom feeders most years.

Mark Richt's 2013 recruiting class:

32 total players

12 players transferred/dismissed

2 medically disqualified

10 career backups

Of 32 players in what should be our current class of seniors that Mark Richt recruited, only 10 ever wound up staying and playing meaningful snaps. Of those 10, only 6 are still on the team (4* C Brandon Kublanow, 4* ILB Reggie Carter, 4* OLB Davin Bellamy, 3* DT John Atkins, 3* WR Reggie Davis, 3* SS Quincy Mauger)

Maybe UGA has a culture problem but Mark Richt was a contributor to that problem

we are comparing two coaches, Smart and Richt, one has coached 5 games, and the other coached well over a decade. it's apples and oranges. If you wish for me to shutup, then you might wish to make better arguements

I never miss a chance to take a shot at UG, but they're about where they should be. The game yesterday shows this.

I understand it's all about players making plays, but they also include fluke plays that cancel each other out:

-The UT player losing the TD because he let up & got hit
-The UG player losing the ball in the end zone resulting in a TD

-UG getting a fluke TD w/ 0:10 left to go ahead
-UT getting a fluke TD w/ 0:00 left to win

I've been saying this for years. Talent has never been the issue in Athens.

Whether or not Kirby proves to be anything special on the field remains to be seen but I wholeheartedly believe he will do everything in his power to change the culture in Athens. I doubt you see much more of the undisciplined crap of the last ten years much longer.

Can't you apply the same logic to Texas? What have they ever won without Darrell Royal and Mack Brown?

First, 1980- The only truly GREAT team UGA has ever had. Georgia has always been,,,,georgia.

Second, Saban took over a team that had minimal SEC talent that was just then coming out of sanctions. Winning 7 games with that team was a great job. That was at best a 5 win team. Kirby took over a program stocked and primed to be competetive.

One of those backups from the 2013 class went to snapchat last night and basically said the hail mary yesterday was karma.

Kirby has to flush the system before we see the change we want to see.

What are you, 12? We've had other great teams.

You shouldn't weigh in on what Kirby took over if you believe this. We have some talent in some places, but no depth and way to thin everywhere. And just bad in some places.

Kirby took a team with true freshman playing key roles in multiple positions and wore out a Senior laden team picked by many to make the playoffs. I don't like the outcome but I'm ok with the effort.

I saw that on the Dawg Rant this morning. Sometimes you have to take out the trash.

If Richt is coaching three of the freshmen that played a big role in that game on offense aren't there. Nauta was going to bolt and Herrien and Ridley's younger brother were never on the radar for Georgia until the coaching change.

The offensive situation outside of the running backs, two slot type receivers, and Blazevich would be bad.

I'm pretty happy. Today anyway. Richt + Diaz may have some potential in Miami.

Richt has always been a great coach, now he's at a program where championship aspirations are realistic
