I've got that same question. I just hope Saban doesn't burn too many bridges with the HS coaches.

Yeah, you can't keep doing this. It WILL catch up with you and players will begin to shy away, especially the 3 and 4 stars that every program needs for depth and stability. He oversigned every year at LSU which is why we were only able to take 13 in Miles' first class. Those were our RSJR's and SR's this year, which is why we had little upperclassman leadership. It catched up eventually.

But, Saban will be gone by then. Why does he care?

If Fluker and Bobby Massie is your starting LT and RT next year you are screwed. They could be great in a year or two but next year? HS DE gave Fluker fits in the All Star game. SEC DE will eat their lunch if They starts as freshman. Besides to say both these guys will work out as Tackle in college is just nuts. Nice pick up but even Saban knows he is blowing smoke up these recruits arse.

Agreed... it's extremely rare for anyone straight out of HS (Fluker) or even PG (Massie) to come out and dominate... growing pains are imminent. Fluker has reached Terrence Cody hype status and the has garnered lots of man love from Rivals. He's huge, strong, and can dominate, but there's no telling if he's got the feet to move around well enough for a LT against speed rushing DEs.

I don't know how fluker and massie will pan out, but Andre smith did just fine his freshman year. Some of these kids are ready to play strait out of highschool. I.e. Julio, hightower, and Ingram.

OL and QB are the hardest positions to play as freshmen.

I know, I thought Andre was a pretty good example.

I think Carpenter is the sleeper of this group.

Yeah I agree, but OL (LT especially) doesn't seem to be a position where freshmen usually come in and play well early, or even start. Andre was a once-in-a-decade type OL, I'm not sure if Fluker is as polished at this point, but you never know.

Fluker, I think, has more potential. He's as much of a physical freak as Big Herm but much more athletic.
