All I know about the guy is he's as old as dirt and coached for the steelers.

What is his base defense and style of coaching does he have?

he is credited with inventing the "Fire Zone" or "zone blitz" defense, which employs unpredictable pass rushes and pass coverage from various players.[8] His defenses typically employ 3–4 sets, with any of the 4 linebackers and frequently a defensive back among the pass rushers, while defensive line...

considered to be one of the greatest defensive coordinators of all time. [2] Considered an “innovator” and “defensive football genius”,[3][4] LeBeau created the "zone blitz" when he was defensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals in the late 1980s

Let's be real if we actually do get Dick it's as strong of a hire that a school could make. 3ish years out of him and we are golden

It will take 3 years to get the LB's to play his system. They are not on the current roster.

Congratulations! Hell, get a good life insurance policy for him and your cheap arse AD might get a free coach.

Where did you c&p that info from? Link?

So he's an old school tough sob type for coach, I'd presume. He's probably a great coach but the big question is will he be able to transition to the college game, relate to recruits and be able to sell himself to the youngsters. At 77 that's not gonna be an easy task for him, going from being around Professionals to having to put up with a bunch of immature entitled college kids. Two to three years max out of him, IMO. I am not saying this is a bad hire, just that it will be a hard adjustment for him and at that age he may not want to put up with the college kids very long.

Not really: Some of our DE's are LB size.

ETA: I doubt Dick is our guy

If Miles plays this wrong with Dick, it could blow up in his face.

Not nearly as much as a 17-18 year old freshman. Plus that is their job, getting paid millions to do and if you think the atmosphere in a pro locker room is anywhere close to a college one then the jokes on you.
