It's all about exposure. Mizzou is still trying to develop their brand for recruiting purposes. It is embarrassing, but we need to create awareness for our product.

I'm sure all of the 50 people in Wyoming will be tuning in.

@Hawaii
@ FL International
@ UNLV

Playing at Ark St doesn't help "the brand"

@ Arkansas State

WTF

@ UConn

Ehh...I guess they did make a BCS Bowl game.

@ Wyoming

Would be cool imo. Nebraska and Ole Miss played in Laramie. If I remember correctly, it didn't work out so well for the Rebels...

@ Memphis

At least it would be a fun place to visit.

@ Middle Tennessee State

Murfreesboro is a good 45 minutes from Nashville. This is an odd choice.

With MTSU you get to go to Nashville. Fun town.

Wyoming was Pinkel scheduling a game for a longtime assistant coach of his who is no longer the head coach and was snatched up by A&M.

Is this college why there was a carpool lane and three lane highway in the middle of nowhere when I drove through Tennessee last summer? Found it odd.

Pinkel wants these games. He wants to prepare his teams for an environment away from home before we have to go on the road in SEC play. In this case, it's pretty hard to argue with our road record.

Wouldn't be surprised.

2015
@ Arkansas State
SEC Move.
2017
@Uconn
AAC school. Not terrible.
2019
@Wyoming
Favor for Dave Christiansen. Unfortunately he got fired.
2021
@Memphis
Multiple ties. Decent squad too.
2022
@Middle Tenn State
Wouldn't be surprised if moved to neutral site. If not, eh, more exposure in Nashville area.

We had the Ark St game bought out, but they backed out of the deal.

Hopefully we buy the Wyoming game out. That was stupid to schedule in the first place, but the reason we did is no longer there.

Memphis is an area we recruit regularly.

MTSU is a 2 for 1. Still don't like it though.

I wonder why Missouri didn't try and work out a deal forcing the game to be played at Nissan Stadium.

Still might. I have a feeling we'd rather move it to STL though.

We are cheap. We don't want to buy home games so we schedule these roadies to lower tier schools to avoid it. If that's the case, I don't like it.

This right here is the answer.

MS State does the same thing, in fact, this was discussed at length earlier.

YES, each conference team gets sick money from TV contracts and bowl money distribution.

BUT, teams like MS State and Mizzou are still at a large financial disadvantage against top tier teams like Bama, LSU & UGA because they don't rake in nearly as much in merchandising sales and endorsements.

This type of scheduling is a pretty smart way to level the financial playing field.

Yes, I think this type of scheduling is smart

Our high school basketball team always traveled to MTSU to play in the Kermit Davis basketball camp during the Summer. Campus is far bigger than I had expected.

Mizzou is usually top 20 or 25 in merchandising.

I'm more interested to see what Power 5 teams we schedule as part of our mandated 1 a year. I think these games suck, regardless of where they're played. I just don't see why Mizzou is giving up a home game every year to play terrible opponents.

People say Mizzou is cheap, but what's the real money gained or loss by paying a team to play at home and the actual revenue from a home game?

Mizzou has no intestinal fortitude.
AKA they're pussies

For reference, check out Vanderbilt's OOC future road schedule

2015 @ MTSU, @Houston
2016 @ Georgia Tech, @ Western Kentucky

I always feel like I'm stuck in a time loop when UGA and Mizzou fans go at it on this board.

Lost to Indiana
Still beat two teams you didn't
34-0
Still East Champs
The East is down

Rinse and Repeat.
