KYLE, UPDATE YOUR POST WITH VOLS AT 3!!! K. SPANX.

It's interesting that KYLE chose 9 as to not count the VOLS streak of 8 vs. thUGA.

What's been Tennessee's longest SEC win streak of the past 10 years?

4 games

They've currently won 4 straight (UK, SC, Mizzou, Vandy) all last year.

They also won 4 straight SEC games back in 2007 (SC, Ark, Vandy, UK)

Technically, VOLS did have a 9 game streak vs UG but the 1989 win was pre-expansion

Florida won 20+ between 1994 and 1997.

I think that would have to be the modern streak because of the lack of repeat SEC champions.

His post is about SEC winning streaks, not winning streaks over individual opponents. That's the whole point of your thread, but now you're trying to change it because you've been presented with data that makes the Vols look not as great as you'd hoped.

Hard to imagine anyone touching that 25-game SEC winning streak of Florida's anytime soon. If Saban can only muster an 11-game SEC win streak, its going to be pretty difficult for anyone to get to 25 or more in this age of parity.

Well...I know this is going to rub people the wrong way, but the SEC Championship Game doesn't officially count in the SEC W-L column. If you take this loophole into account, Alabama had an 18-game SEC winning streak from 2008-2010.

I'm talking Winning Streaks, period. Not winning streaks against one particular team.

This helps explain how anyone who can remember the dominant Florida teams of the 1990s can put Spurrier into the same league as Saban when it comes to coaching. If you look at accomplishments on paper, Saban wins big. And if you look at championships, Saban wins big.

If Florida didn't have to play FSU every season in the middle of the most dominant run by a single team since OU in the 50s Spurrier gets at least 1 if not 2 additional titles.

FSU back in the day was top 5 every single season for 14 years- that's insane.

NO, you are the one that changed the data:

"Winning Streaks against SEC Opponents of 9 games or longer since 1992:

4- Auburn
4- Florida
3- Alabama
1- LSU
1- Tennessee"

Note the plurality of opponents. If you wanted it to match what you expected, it would need to read:

Winning Streaks against an SEC Opponent of 9 games or longer since 1992.

Bama and Florida fans are probably going to be the only ones who can match or surpass the 17 straight SEC wins in a row the VOLS had from the 1997 and 1998 seasons.

I remember when Arkansas went to 2 straight NC games in basketball too.

You realize that it's consecutive SEC games right? Not just against one opponent?

Had Florida, Florida State, AND Miami not been so dominant during that time period, any of the three would have likely dominated the football world like no program before or since.

Just check the AP Poll finishes from 1990-1996 for each team:

Florida: #13, #17, #10, #5, #7, #2, #1
Florida St.: #4, #4, #2, #1, #4, #4, #3
Miami: #3, #1, #3, #15, #6, #20

Those were the top 3 programs in the AP poll during that 7-year stretch, and all three are located in the same state.

Miami won 4 National Championships between 1983-1991.... had FSU and Florida not popped on the scene in the late '80s / early '90s, its highly likely Miami would have kept on winning titles all the way through the 1990s. They won another in 2001 and finished in the Top 2 each year from 2000-2002.

They were good in the 1990s, finishing ranked in the Top 20 every year except 1997. But FSU and UF took away a lot of their strength during that time.

From 1990-2000, Florida State just lost 6 games to opponents that were not Florida or Miami. Those 6 opponents were:
#1 Tennessee (1998)
#1 Oklahoma (2000)
#2 Notre Dame (1993)
#16 Virginia (1995)
#19 Auburn (1990)
NR NC State (1998)

From 1990-2000, Florida only lost 16 games to opponents other than Florida State or Miami. Those 16 losses were to:
#1 Nebraska (1995)
#1 Alabama (1992)
#1 Tennessee (1998)
#4 Auburn (1993)
#7 Michigan State (1999)
#8 Tennessee (1990)
#8 Alabama (1999)
#8 Alabama (1999)
#9 Auburn (1994)
#10 Georgia (1997)
#11 Syracase (1991)
#12 Tennessee (1992)
#13 Notre Dame (1991)
#13 LSU (1997)
#23 Miss. State (1992)
#24 Miss. St. (2000)

Then of those 16 non-state-of-Florida losses were against teams that finished in the Top 10.... 3 were against eventual National Champions.

You're a bigger homer than any VOLS poster otb. You also look at monstercock.com so your opinion on anything is invalid.
