I'm no events planner and/or stadium manager, but I'd bet it would be awfully tough to have the stadium ready 48 hours after Michigan-Florida.

The New Orleans Superdome has reached out to NRG Stadium officials to notify them that the dome is available, said Doug Thornton, executive vice president for stadiums and arenas of SMG. The Superdome and NRG Stadium are both managed by SMG, a Philadelphia-based arena-management company. "Obviously their preference is to play the game in Houston," Thornton said in a statement, "but we wanted them to know that New Orleans is an option if alternatives need to be considered." The Saints host a preseason game Thursday, but the Superdome could be ready within 48 hours, dome general manager Alan Freeman told The Advocate. Dome officials, however, would need advance notification, mostly because of staffing. More than 3,000 staffers work a typical game at the Superdome, Freeman said. "We’d welcome them or anything else we could do to help," Freeman said. "We could do it and are prepared to do it."

Why? ABC and ESPN have a merged network. Michigan-Florida fans check out of their hotels Sunday morning. LSU-BYU fans check in Sunday afternoon. Do you know how many stadiums around the country regularly host a P-5 college football game on Saturday and an NFL game on Sunday? Miami, Tampa, LA, Pittsburgh. San Diego did it for decades as well. The Falcons will be hosting the Vikings in a 1 PM game about 18 hours after the conclusion of the SEC Championship game.

Go ahead and list 50% of the college stadiums in the US, since half of the teams will be having a home game on Saturday.

not being mentioned but the Liberty Bowl stadium in memphis could be a viable option... logistics works. somewhat neutral site. Memphis will be playing on Thursday so it won't be occupied. Field could be garbage cause of rain and the memphis game playing on a wet field 2 days before
