LSU was down by 6 at that point and LSU had struggled on O most of the day. More than 1/2 of their drives that day resulted in 3 and outs.

Agreed. Probably the worst call i've ever seen. REC got payback by just hiring Saban 3 years later though

LSU had four first downs in the second half and the two LSU quarterbacks (Jefferson and Lee) were a combined 6/13 in the second half.
LSU second half drives
1) 9 plays, +29 yards (punt)
2) 6 plays, +56 yards (touchdown)
3) 3 plays, +9 yards (punt)
4) 3 plays, -8 yards (punt)
5) 5 plays, +8 yards (interception)

The replay doesnt show really one way or another. it was a close call and could have gone either way. single frame pictures dont really tell any story in this instance
