If any of these guys really follow LSU football they already knew the fans were shitty so this probably won't affect their decision.

I'm sure the arse beating was way less of a factor than the fans leaving.

I know my major consideration for residency interviews was parking availability and not location/boards pass rate.

Any recruit that goes out of state will be hated and blasted, but fans don't have time to stay and be loyal with 10+ minutes left in the game.

It is easier to love LSU in football in theory than in actuality.

Cool. I would hope that no young man chooses which college he goes to based off whether the fans leave or not.

Not trolling -- fans leave lots of programs' games under difficult circumstances -- but recruits should pay attention to the sort of support they'll be getting in half the games they play. If they think the fans won't support them and their team, that degrades the experience.

I think there's a correlation between Miami's heyday packing the stadium and Miami now barely managing a decent crowd. FSU and UF are now the dominant recruiting powers of the state.

Not a bad theory. You can tell nowadays that Miami's talent level is down.

Meh, Bama had issues a year or so ago with students leaving early or showing up that you had to address.

And, iirc, Saban made a strong statement about it and people listened.

LSU needs a coach willing to do that. I'm not sure Miles would ever berate the fans with quite the same sternness. He's your fun uncle, not your strict father.

Maybe if Saban would spank us and yell at us for being bad fans we would stay the whole game.

There is a different culture at Alabama.

Perhaps, but LSU fans love their football team every bit as much as Bama fans love theirs. I know people get on LSU fans for being angry and fickle, but that's because they really do care about the team. If they didn't, they'd just shrug and move on.

The Cajun culture of self loathing, pessimism, and cynicism has a heavy influence in Louisiana and therefore permeates the LSU fan base. The rest of the South doesn't get it.

I wonder what Devin White's reaction during Cornelius TD run was.

It had to be a little weird.

I personally don't think any college football fanbase hangs as much of their personal self esteem on their team than Bama fans. LSU is up there with Ohio St or Notre Dame, but Bama is another level.

No one else is like them.

I hate to be the one to inform you but yor thoughts are completely wrong. Fairly small, private university+drug trafficking from 80's and 90's.

Heh, okay, yes, Bama fans can get a little vociferous on occasion. (Sorry, didn't notice the GIF in your previous post because I thought it was a sig and my eyes tend to slide right past sigs.) Still, there's a passed-out drunk LSU fan in that first one. He cared, man. He cared.

Yes, I am aware that they are a small private university. But they had lots of sidewalkers from the area. Nowadays, they no longer congregate at the games.

The steady stream of oos 4* and 5* recruits to LSU about to slow to a drip.

Fans are a side effect of success from drug trafficking resulting in tons of cash for 100's of baggers to buy recruits. When you can trace LSU's success back to cocaine, let me know and I will reconsider my perspective.
