Egg Bowl

And it’s not even close.

I fancy myself a cultured redneck. I use real red Solo cups, not the Walmarks knock-offs.

I can potentially agree with leaving the World Cup at number one. I'm a casual soccer fan but obviously the level of fandom for national teams in South America and Europe is on another plane entirely.

March Madness number two? Uh, no. It's the Super Bowl.

College football playoffs would be number three, and potentially even possibly number two, if the reality matched the theory. Instead it has turned into the "who are the chumps who are going to get blasted by the SEC team(s)" which lessens it overall. Other parts of the country need to step up. So put World Series at number three.

Champions League number four.

College football playoffs, reality edition, is number five.

March Madness number six.

NBA playoffs number seven.

Not sure if I would put college athletics up there anymore. It's in decline. Not continuity with teams. Players only loyal to $$.

Wow, you really have March Madness at number six? Even when Auburn sucked, I would always get excited whenever March Madness would roll around

Your fans bark like a dog - that’s pretty gay.

Which is why the CFP should be last.

The championship game is sometimes good, but overall college football has the lamest postseason in sports.

And no way is March Madness that low. Rounds 1 and 2 are a cultural event, and there’s not much more exciting things in sports than a Cinderella team upsetting a powerhouse. Especially considering the number of games played ensures a few buzzer beaters happen every year.

This thread is about greatest sporting events of all time, but if we did a corollary thread about funniest things in sports of all time, Auburn fans suddenly pretending that they have always been super invested in college basketball would definitely be near the top.

March Madness is a cool event but what lessens it from my perspective is how little people care about who actually wins the damn thing. People care about the first and second rounds because of the potential for gambling. No one other than maybe Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, and NC fans really gives a shite about who the ultimate winner is.

Terrible list.
1. CFP
2. SB
3. WS
4. MM
5. World Cup
6. The Olympics
7. NBA championship
8. NCAA Baseball Tournament
The rest are games not sports. There is a difference.

World Cup is definitely #1. Anyone who says otherwise is just being biased.
