Richard Simmons is much better. Let me give you my impression of Truman Capote:
From what I understand, he was a gifted writer. It stops there. Back in the 70's, whenever a late night talk show host had a cancellation, they would book Truman. How entertaining or enlightening was he? It doesn't compute. When he was listed in TV Guide as a guest on ANY show, it was the equivalent of saying, "my fellow Americans, you can now turn off you television sets, because there isn't a damn thing worth a shite until tomorrow. You have been warned." I never read any of his books because after seeing and hearing him on television, there's no way I could have read anything he authored without his completely aversive persona tainting it.
