You talking about Dalvin Tomlinson? Cause he committed on signing day about 8 o'clock in the morning. He announced it on Fox5 news here in Atlanta.

Publicly, he did.

He committed to Saban on MLK day per his coach in an AJC article...

You must not have been here.

Les Miles took a ton of shite for that.

And, like Bama fans, most LSU fans were in denial.

No, never said that Chizik is pure. He's over signed and I never liked the stunts with the limo and bus either. I also don't like the way Trooper acts like a fool with his hat backwards and the towel thing he does.
But as far as I know there has never been a kid who committed to Chizik and Auburn only to find out days from national signing day that committment is no longer any good.

Some people just want things to be true. That doesn't make it so.

Yeah, that's kinda like the belief that having a head coach with a reputation as being a liar and not honoring his scholarship offers won't have any negative effect on recruiting.

I've not heard anyone saying anything about him not honoring scholarships offers until now. Yeah there have been some fans bitching about over-signing for years but what happened this year is different and it's not just fans who have taken notice. This is a media story and one that is not positive for Nick Saban nor Alabama.

At the least what Saban did was give every other coach he is going up against for a recruit a very powerful argument for not dealing with Alabama. Imagine if a kid is winding down his choices to Alabama and another team and that other team's coach is sitting in the kids living room with the kid and his parents and he looks that mom and dad in the eye and says, how do you know that when national signing day comes and your kid is ready to fax in his letter to Nick Saban, he will still honor that offer? How can Alabama counter that argument when those parents and that prospect looks to Alabama to answer that question?

Some of you want this to be something it's not so bad. You're wasting too much energy on this.

@ Darth_Vader

You really believe the stuff you type? Did you see how many guys went early last year in the 1st round? Watch what happens in this years draft. There's your answer.

i don't think any alabama fan is happy about about the philon situation. if i said i felt horrible about his situation, that would be jibe at arkansas. he will be ok.

the new rules on signing will affect more than saban's teams at alabama. the ncaa tightening the screws on signing will limit saban, but it will also affect your teams. we will see many more philon scenarios in the next few years, and they will not just be in tuscaloosa. the four year, promised atheltic scholarship can be manipulated as much, if not more, on the athlete's side.
