Open the season with a better than average non-conference opponent, end the regular season with our usual creampuff opponent like always.

15-0 Ship. Same goal as every year.

On paper at least, it shouldn't be close. We have more speed and talent at every position...but then again that's what we thought before the UW game. If the offense is what we all hope it will be, and the defense still looks great, LSU should win by 2-3 TD's. Give me 10 wins and a NY6 bowl and I'll call that a great season.

Didn't realize how bad the offensive side of the ball was in the SEC until bowl season.

The only milestones of futility Sumlin has yet to accomplish are:
-Get shut out at home for the first time since 1971
-Place dead last in conference for the first time since 1971

LSU should start 5-0 unless State sneaks up on us in Starkville. I have a feeling we'll beat Florida and Auburn is at home, so we should win that, which would put us at 7-0. Ole Miss in Oxford will be very tricky. At Alabama is an uphill battle at best. Arkie at home we should be able to win. At Tennessee looks tough, then we close with the cupcake auto-win. I would be disappointed with anything worse than 9-3 (and not that thrilled with 9-3 either), but 10-2 or 11-1 are reasonably attainable. Realistically, the worst case should be 7-5, assuming a couple of slips at Florida or Mississippi State or at home against Auburn or Arkie.
I should point out, however, that because we are bringing in a new OC who seems to be a drastic change from the last few years, this will be one of the hardest seasons to predict in recent LSU history. We usually base our expectations of the future on trends we've seen developing in the recent past, but things could be topsy-turvy this year depending on what changes Canada makes. For all we know, we might score 30 on Alabama or not be able to do shite against Aggy. It will be interesting to see.

Develop an offense, lose no more than 2 home games and 1 Road/Neutral Site Game, learn to recruit.

I'd like to see Hurts improve in the passing game, see if it is even remotely possible to get him to an elite level with his arm to go along with his legs.
