Well, my son went to Annapolis and I did get to go to an Army-Navy game. I have to say it was awe-inspiring and the pageantry did send chills.
The game means everything to both teams and fans of both teams and that is what makes a "rivalry."
A "rivalry" is not the same thing as a big, important, "of-interest-nationally" game, or what game "you would like to see," or about the best athletes, or teams. A rivalry is about RIVALRY. It was not just the pageantry but the enthusiasm, 100-percent of both teams and fans, and the shared future of both teams made that Army-Navy game memorable.
If anyone has a chance to go to this game, go early, walk around see the corp of cadets, midshipmen, preparing to march into the stadium, all standing straight, clean-cut, in-shape, enthusiastic. Watch the videos, watch the flyovers, the entrance of the cadets and midshipmen, and observe the fans in the stands. It is hard to beat. I had tears... it was intense.

I doubt I've ever watched more than a quarter of the army/navy game. I just don't care.

SEC competitions I would rather attend than Army-Navy:
Iron Bowl
Egg Bowl
Magnolia Bowl (ghey name, great game)
Cocktail Party
DSOR
Vandy-Mizzou
Kentucky-State
Arky/Ole Miss-UT Martin
Spring Games
Final day of sorority rush
Trivia night at Applebees
Two birds fighting over a piece of bread

Oh Jesus, just shut the frick up already. No one needs you to come on here and lecture people as if you hold some sort of information that no one else has. "Rivalry" means different things to different people, just let it go at that.

no one really gives a shite about that rivalry. it's the week after the final college football playoff selections for a reason

I'll suggest you do not understand the word "rivalry" and what causes a game to be the greatest "rivalry."
Rivals don't give a shite about what you would rather see. Rivals only care about beating each other even if both teams are 0-10 when they play.
So have another double cheeseburger, and ease your 300-lbs into that groaning laz-e-boy. Then, panting from the exertion, click the TV onto the #1 East Bumfrick (10-0) vs #4 Groundhog State (9-1) game. Wow what a "rivalry" even though these teams have never played before.
And WTF? A word means what it means, not what "wildchap" or anyone else decides to declare a new meaning. The op discussed "rivalry," not "best game." Wildchap, supposes you lecture us on the meaning of "is?" Jesus, get a fricking dictionary you retarded fool.

Don't ask, he's liable to try to explain himself.
