Let's put a bow on the Texas/Bama game

I was unable to post Saturday or Sunday because of reasons. I know you have all been waiting for my assessment of the Texas/Bama game, here it is:
- The hit on Quinn Ewers was unfortunate but not illegal. That was pure football.
- There was no safety. Bama QB wasn't down. Still, the refs were doing everything they could to make that play go Bama's way.
- Bama had so many penalties and the odd thing is the refs still let them get away with too much. A blatant face mask on a RB inside the 10. PI on our TE in the end zone. Both obvious - no calls.
- It is obvious the Bama DBs are coached to interfere on every play and the refs allow it. This will 100% end when Texas joins the conference.
- Bama's O was completely shut down by the same front 7 guys that were steamrolled by Kansas. Kansas. I was definitely unimpressed by Bama.
- Will Anderson is a highly talented guy who is 100% a dirty player. The evidence is overwhelming. I wish him nothing but the worst.
- If Texas joins the SEC next season, with our young o-line getting another year of experience, Quinn Ewers will more than hold his own.
- I will make a $500 bet right now with any aggie that Texas wins the SEC before A&M.

Alabama played a terrible game and still won. Sip will probably fall apart for the remainder of the season. About the only take away from that game

L-O-L
Lets put a bow on the fact that you guys have to come here and receive affirmation for being "something" other than irrelevant since Vince Young.
Go away so, ya bug me.
It's uber-sad how you guys are so needy.

Moral victory. Not sure what UT I'm reading right now. Knoxville or Austin.

That’s life in the SEC. Personally I prefer it to be called like it used to be, with much less contact on the receivers , but without all the other advantages afforded the offense these days.
Regardless, that isn’t likely to change.
Eta: speaking of which, ut got the advantage of those touchy feely calls, one of which would not have been interference even back in the day. You won’t get those next season

No, it won't. Alabama's corners have been coached since Saban got to Alabama to play a very physical form of coverage. They play bump & run and are going to be physical with receivers. It may result in penalties at times, but more often than not, it works for them.

Really proud of all those Life Champions in Austin.

You really think Texas will come in and clean up SEC officiating? Welcome to the hope of every team when there is a new commissioner hired.

I think TAMU has been using this line for awhile, you guys are sooo alike!

I am not a TAMU alum, but I will be dead and buried before either of you win the West, much less the whole ball of yarn. I would bet Oklahoma beats both of you with a SEC title.

Oh really? Your very naive to believe this.

Texsa still has the best tackling Offensive Line in the country.
The ticky-tacky and inconsistent way the B12 official have called PI is different than most conferences. The SEC has consistently called it closer to NFL way, imo.
It appears that one of three things happened this weekend.
A) Several teams appeared to have underestimated their opponents
B) Some teams are over-rated
C) It was just one of those weird weekends
I am leaning toward "C". But, I am an old guy, what would I know

I'm really not sure how Turner could've played that any differently, but this is reminiscent of the rules surrounding targeting that need to be re-visited.
Too many football plays that occur with a split second are being analyzed to death by the officials.
I actually thought those referees were terrible all day, for both sides. Too many conferences, too many ticky-tack calls, and blatantly missed calls. Somehow they were just awful all the way around.

Oh please, tell us how Texas is going to put an end to this?

Gotta love the mindset where you’ve struggled for over a decade in a shite conference that doesn’t win championships and lose to a championship team in a competitive conference therefore you are going to do well in the competitive conference. Gotta love that UT Austin education

completely shut down to the tune of 374 yards of total offense. Sure, that is low for our expectations, but "completely shut down" is false.

they also let UT get away with plenty.

What evidence do you speak of? Him having a brain fart and pushing the guy down after he fell down?
