So the odds on favorite to be the next basketball coach at Kentucky right now according to Vegas is Scott Drew. Nate Oats is also an odds on favorite. I’m hoping for Donovan, but who knows?

However, the name that I have seen to slightly, and I mean slightly, start to circulate is none other than Rick Pitino.

Now I can’t even really imagine this. The man is 71, and even though he just did a nice job with St. John’s this season (should have been a tournament team), I can’t imagine him stepping back into the head role at UK.

Not to mention I can’t believe the powers to be in BBN would want to hire someone who at most would probably be there for a max of five years.

But since everything is speculation at this moment, let’s imagine that the Kentucky athletic department couldn’t get the guy they wanted, and instead opted to hire Pitino as a bridge guy.

Would this be exciting? Would the fans like to see him finish his days in Lexington? I can’t lie, I think the whole idea would be kind of awesome.

Travis Ford or bust. That's my craziest most favorite scenario.

He's like 85 years old. His time is well past

I like Pitino dating back to when he coached Kentucky. I’ve watched him when I could at Iona and this year. He’s a damn good basketball coach and would be a great hire for anyone, but it’s a shame that his age is almost too big a factor to overlook.

There's a lot of chatter out there that maybe Calipari is trying to find a way to stay. It sounds insane I know, but that is making its way around the UK world.

I have nothing from the school but this is picking up steam and is some messaging coming from Calipari related sources. IT would explain why we have heard nothing and the public appearance today with no comment. Stay tuned...

UPDATE: Three sources, none of which are with UK to be fair, now all have told me that Calipari still hasnt resigned or said he is leaving Kentucky. Unbelievable

wouldn't it be cool if BRYCE Drew became head coach at Ole Miss someday?

Vandy fired him way too soon

What’s crazy as well is that all of this fiasco was set in motion by SMU.

SMU takes the USCw coach

USCw takes muss from Arkansas

Arkansas gets cal from Kentucky(?)

Kentucky keeps the dominoes dropping.

All parties to this point are happy, which is unusual. Not an ordinary occurrence to this point.
