^Sanford would've had new terminology and a new system. The point of the DeBord hire is that he already knows our system and our terminology. We're not trying to change anything and DeBord serves that purpose.

How many coaches have come and gone since, oh let's say 2005 in football and basketball? To keep it simple and save miles of space, let's just use head coaches.

Next, tell me that these hires aren't followed by a plethora of rantards espousing the "greatness" of each.

Seriously? You low down dirty snitches are awesome.

It's not spin. That is the reason for this hire. CBJ was OC for DeBord at CMU.

Why in the world would Jones not hire Mike Sanford if he wanted to take the job (which reportedly he did).

If that's the case it would have made much more sense to promote Azzanni and then hire a QB specific coach...this hire just doesn't make much sense to anyone outside of UT.

May work out, he will have the weapons to work with.

Dude, if I say it's spin it's spin, even if it's not spin. So stop spinning my spin about your spin.

Well your coach hiring himself as the DC doesn't make much sense to anyone outside of vandy, so stay out of this

Azzani's not quite ready to be OC yet

Listen, and get this through that big empty blue head of yours. You are a KENTUCKY FAN, you do not get to have an opinion on ANYTHING football related, EVER. You are NOTHING.

Now, exit this thread, quickly and quietly.

Azzani will getting a promotion soon. Don't be surprised to see him named Co-OC but even if he is not he will get a promotion and be learning to be an OC under DeBord. This is a safe transition hire rather than a change hire. I don't expect DeBord to be here for many years.

On the surface it's an odd move for sure but there is some sense to it when you delve deeper. Continuity is all it's about.

Let's be honest, Tennessee football is still a shell of its former self.

I like how UT fans are hasseling UK fans for not being relevant in Football.

Is UT relevant in any sport played by men?

Mason calling the D is a desperation move to try and save his job and probably any future career opportunities as a HC. He took over the D vs UT and it had its best performance of the season (I realize UT had several injuries). That said there are several HCs who call plays so I'm open to the idea since there was no way VU was gonna fire him after 1 season.

Even if McGriff had went through Mason was gonna call the D so that missed hire was a non factor to anything but recruiting. Feel pretty good about the Ludwig hire but he has a big challenge ahead of him.
