ETA: I wonder if this *rival* thing will hold true. I think this is currently a genuine distaste for our schools.

Yup. A pretty good one too. I may even bring out my broiler and make some cajun style stuff that game, but only if it's a night game.
Remind me again when it gets sooner and we'll try to figure out a way to exchange info without creeps on here getting that info.

I honestly don't see where people get these "bad experiences" in Gainesville. I personally do not tailgate on campus anymore and prefer to tailgate on private lots, so perhaps that is why, but, a lot of it seems far-fetched unless you're willing walking through frat row... which would occur at any school.
I made that mistake at LSU one time and man that was rough. I imagine most frat rows are similar to LSU's with away fans.

I've been to Gainesville 6 times and have never had a bad experience. I always go and cheer against them, and the fans let me have it but its all in good fun. No one has ever gone over the top, personally I would recommend catching a game in Gainesville

I get that being a Florida fan, since there's no real tailgating on campus there. Had to hitch a ride in on a bus when we went to Gainesville, all the tailgating was offsite. No gameday atmosphere that I'd want

I have not been keeping up, Florida won last year? I think that was the first on in a long time from the Gators against the Tigers. I could be wrong...
