Miles is pretty much always grammatically correct. He may stretch word usage to its farthest logical reaches, but he's very technically correct.

I think you just get upset because he's smarter than you are.

More often than not Les' grammar is dead on. It's not his fault you're too stupid to follow.

He has a degree from one of the best universities in the country. He's probably smarter than 99% here.

I know he's smarter than I am.

I've said this before, but I think some of the local media people don't like him because it frustrates them that he's so much better with the english language than they are.

The defense ALWAYS does more work than the offense because they don't know where each play is going. They have to go harder and pursue faster to make up for the disadvantage of not knowing what the offense is doing until it's being done.

This is true for any offense, not just the hurry up.

quote:

Additionally, the primary reason for running a no huddle is confusing and tiring the front seven. This is significant because the defensive front seven will always tire much more quickly than an offensive line, who can then push them around more easily. There is far more aerobic work on a play to play basis for a front seven defender than an offensive lineman.

Not if you have speed and depth on defense. Which LSU has. Miles doesn't worry about hurry up offenses because LSU is built to stop them.

Miles is totally right IMO, communication breakdowns are common with hurry up offenses. Seems every hurry up offense we've played eventually experienced communication problems that resulted in interceptions.

You wouldn't use a college football coach as a source on matters of college football?

he's a goof, but it's not like he's new to the league or a media personality.

He said there in NO advantage to a hurry up since the offense is doing just as much work as the defense. If you can't substitute that's your problem. The ref will stand over the ball and allow substitutions as needed.

I have no issue with hurry up offenses and neither do any of the SEC coaches. The problem some SEC coaches have is that the refs are not properly allowing substitutions by the defense when the offense subs. It gives the offense a huge advantage when they can sub and know exactly what play to run, but the defense is not given time to sub and then adjust to the formation they see. The player safety argument is all just BS because its the easiest argument to get what you want.

I think the biggest thing though is Les genuinely doesn't give a flip what people think outside of the the teams locker room thinks. This probably goes for a lot of the fans too.

BTW...I've no doubt he's smarter than me.

At least two do.

What is an example of refs allowing one team to sub, but not the other? I don't recall that ever happening.

Tell that to the piggies in here who don't want to believe bert would spew bullshite to make a point.
