I don't even think he's a bad public speaker. He just doesn't speak in a traditional way. His choice of words is kind of weird but I don't think it makes him a poor speaker.

shite, I'm a bad public speaker. I get nervous and I stutter like a moron when I'm giving a presentation. That doesn't mean I'm not intelligent.

Les is a character and comes across as a goofball on television... but did you really just compare him to Petrino?
I'm not sure you could find two football coaches more completely different in terms of personality, coaching philosophy, public speaking, recruiting...

I'd love to read his apology if he got wrapped up in a Petrino like scandal.
