Saw the story on the news the other day. From a parent with a sick child, I can say it means more than most know. If you can give your kid a smile that only lasts a minute, its so worth it.

Gracias.

My son got a tour of LSU football operations and met all the coaches and received a signed ball from the team in 2008 thanks to Randall Gay and Verge Ausberry. He'll never forget that.

Id also like to add that Children's Hospital in Birmingham is just about the finest pediatric facility in the country. Staff there is top notch. No doubts.

If you are off topic in this thread, find it or stop posting. If you are responding to something off topic in this thread, stop it and ignore it. It will go way.

Big shout out to:

1.) The Kid
2.) His family
3.) The physicians caring for him
4.) Les Miles

Seeing as my other half is an RN, I feel the need to point out a glaring omission.

I live in MB and Sid's brother is on my son's lacrosse team. Purple and gold everywhere here. Cudos to Les Miles. Classy move. Earned my respect. I'm sure it brought cheer to this young man's life that will soon be cut short...

I've kept up with him the past few days. A heavy burden for a child & family who seems to have had the best attitude during the worst of times. My heart is heavy

Les Miles is truly a great man, I know he gets alot of shite on here despite his record-setting tenure at LSU but he's done nothing but represented my school, state, & conference with pride, dignity, and love.

His love for all aspects of life & respect for the game of football is awing. Him talking up Saban & the Crimson Tide immediately following the game of the century shows just this.

To Sid, the glory of purple and gold lives within

Bourbon, crisp, and goatman....
Let it go please. This is about Les Miles the man and this family and their son.
If this was your son you'd be singing a different tune....
Thanks Fairhope....

That's tough for someone so young to have cancer.

Props to Miles & the city of Mountain Brook, Alabama!

Nick Saban is the same way.

I think most of the SEC coaches are great people. Certainly I think Miles, Saban, Freeze, Gus, Richt, Jones and Spurrier are.

I know that Spurrier has gone out of his way to help people in need. Lou Holtz tells a story of when Spurrier was at UF, and Holtz's wife needed to see a cancer specialist at the UF medical school. Wait normally was months, Steve made one phone call and Holtz's wife got the treatment needed. Holtz talks about that to this day.

Coach Miles really is a good guy. That has never ever been in question.

BTW Satan called my step dad etc when he had cancer. He has his good days too.
