Let's just give Fournette time, just because the majority of LSU fans were hyping this kid doesn't mean we have to give Fournette a hard time. He may or may not be great, but I just choose to wait and see.

It's not like he was some product of LSU's imagination. He was hyped in every corner of the country and by every recruiting service.

It's not like Michael Jordan came out and hit 50 his first game in college, right?

he had 8 carries and we ran 3 RBs

if you think he's gonna be an overall bust now, then just say it so I can bookmark it

ok

LF will eventually be getting 25 carries a game at LSU

he was brought in lightly last night, and ended up going against 9 in the box against the best talent he's ever faced

had he been in the game in the 4th when we were able to go 3 wide, and spread Wisconsin out, he'd have done the same as Hilliard did

and it should tell everyone something that Wisky was going 8-9 in the box vs a true freshman..

now that LSU has a qb named, and an identity is found, they won't be such a run heavy team and will be able to put the RBs in more ideal situations

LSU's running game sucked for 2 reasons

Les miles' retardation
Wisconsin's DT

Once LSU decided they would throw in the middle of
The field and Wisconsin's DT was hurt, Hilliard had daylight for days.

They were going 8-9 in the box because the QB was throwing at 40%.It was a luxury they could afford.

while I get frustrated with the play calling, I understand this team was young and that the staff had to find out what they were working with in real-time.

agreed

and if it were any back in there in the 4th they'd have padded stats

LSU ran into a buzz saw of a run defense in Wisconsin.

That was a rebuilt Dline compared to LSU's Oline which was suppose to be the strongest part of the entire team.

The run game opened up because LSU wore out Wisc. D, adjusted well and had 2 starting Wisc. D lineman out.

No mystery here.

Overall bust? Depends on what "busting" means.

You guys said he was one of the best high school RBs ever along with AP. If he can't produce and consistently like AP, then shouldn't that be considered a bust?

If he isn't a top three (should be top considering the hype), and is selected in the second round, shouldn't that be considered a bust?

Spare me the "everyone else hyped him too" excuse, because everyone else hyped Coker too. Jimbo did it the most and when he hasn't performed you guys didn't use the fact everyone else did it as an excuse.

The main difference? LF will come on strong this season while Coker polishes the bench with his arse!

While LF7 had no effect on the game, he had some flashes of running over some guys on KR and a couple of runs. This kid will break out, give it time.
