To answer the OP question, yea…basketball will always rule.

The fan base would be giddy to at least make it to Atlanta a couple times…but I think we are realistic….we would be happy to even make it to a New Years Bowl game.

Does that answer your question?

Just trying to figure out what you meant by this.

Its not a fricking option you goon.

frick me.

It's a hypothetical compromise that represents something far more realistic than what you (and every single fan of every team in the country) prefer.

So the idea is to gauge where y'all stand on the importance of football. Are you willing to sacrifice some of your Bball equity? If so, how much?

This is clearly stated in the OP.

Come on, bro.

If you accept the trade proposed in the OP, your basketball team will make the final four once a decade.

So therefore your program would eventually slip down to whatever level teams experiencing that type of success occupy.

We've already started $110 million in stadium renovations and we're starting a $45 million football facility soon as well.

I'll have to check it out before my buddy finished grad school there. Would love to get back for a basketball game next time and hit up the liquor barn. One of the few places I can get Everclear at a good price.

Not really.

You'd answer my question by saying yes or no regarding the trade as described in the OP.

Alright, I'll trade national championships in basketball for SEC championship games. I love football, and ready for a good football team.

You got closer to the OP.

But that's good enough.

Thanks.

Hard to be winning hardware every year with one and dones. Donovan shows what sacrifice and senior leadership does. The Gators play unselfish basketball.

When you have guys like Patric Young who lived in the weight room and hit the academics as hard as he sets screens...that's rewarding. Prather showed what he was made of tonight and took the rebound away from four big UK defenders. I love it.

Cal needs to keep some of these kids in school for a few years so they can develop.

No. One or two titles a decade>>top 15 finishes. The teams that finish in the top 15 didn't really win anything. Now if you're talking swapping basketball for football championships; hell yes.

They're gonna be done in late 2015 and early 2016.

Did you see the new designs for a renovated Rupp? It'll be world class. Nicer than many NBA arenas.

Also, Liquor Barn. I loved that place.

Well at most you're winning one basketball championship a decade.

Also, I didn't necessarily say you don't win any football titles. I'm just saying you finish no lower than 15th an annual basis.

If you're that competitive you're winning the east at least twice a decade--probably more. So under my trade you're definitely going to have the opportunity to win a MNC in football.

Still would take a basketball championship over winning the east twice a decade in football, unless you throw in a football ship, then deal.

Outside of this season and the last one Cal has done more at Kentucky the last fews than Billy has at Florida in the same time span.

Coach K will have 3 one and done guys next season, but I doubt you will have a bunch of idiots telling him he is doing it wrong.

If UK finished in the top 15 every year, I would be ok with the basketball program getting the death penalty.

Hell, I would take the trade if UK were in contention for the east every year, regardless of ranking.

The obsession with basketball in this state is toxic and eventually the basketball program is going to collapse under the weight of the scrutiny.

As a non-basketball fan, I find it sort of amusing.
