Bama you sure Lanning is the right play? Sure seems to be Oregon the program is elite and the coaches aren’t the reason. None have had success after leaving. Lanning seems to be a massive risk

Because if you are a HS football recruit on the west coast, you have 3 legit options. USC, Oregon and UDub. USC and Udub have only recently cared about football.

Oregon was a superior team in a bad conference. You rarely saw Oregon win when they played a team outside of their conference. Once the coaches moved to better conferences with a level playing field, it was more difficult to win

Well he DID coach at Bama one year as a grad asst so you would think he understands the difference and what type of players to recruit in the SEC

Did Chip really fail? Sure he failed in the pros but he seems to be doing pretty well at UCLA.

ehh more like ok, he really isn’t recruiting HS or the portal that well despite being in the hot bed of California
Chip isn’t doing bad there but he’s not moving mountains either

He is 35-34 at UCLA. That’s pretty much failing

He was 46-7 at Oregon for reference
