Wait, Are the Texas A&M "cadets" actually affiliated with the US Military?
No, not anymore than the ROTC members at every other institution of higher learning. (where applicable)

What's the difference b/t leading cheers and leading yells? Serious question.
Cheers usually aren't very complex, and the actual cheerleading group rarely leads them.
Yells are usually more involved from a timing standpoint, and the yell leaders are basically there to keep the student section (which is HUGE at A&M) synchronized.

The point of yells is to be loud, the point of cheers is to....entertain the people who come to football games for that kind of stuff?

A&M all male cheerleaders by about 10 miles.

And, "hotty toddy" for least cool tradition. Seriously, frick that shite.
While Hotty Toddy was probably the most embarrassing thing in the SEC a month ago...
A&M has practice so they can be in unison when they sing 10 different A&M style Hotty Toddy chants. Dont act like you hate Hotty Toddy, you are just mad A&M didn't think of it first!

Ahh, so there's no difference, thanks

I agree we have some stupid traditions, but they've been around longer than you and me. It's not like we were the ones that came up with them. But yes, they are part of our school and like most people that love their school, they will follow the traditions through hell and high water.

Not surprising considering that from the videos I've seen, the yell leaders all seem to talk like Cali brahs.

No, just the ones in ROTC. Think of A&M as a much bigger version of the Citadel.
Regardless, all freshmen and sophomore cadets are required to train in the same manner as their counterparts en route to the military.

LOL if you think that Midnight Yell is honestly held because the crowd forgets the yells and has to be reminded how they go. It's a glorified pep rally, nothing more.

Pep rallies with all male cheerleaders.
Sounds like a suckier version of high school.

so these "military traditions" are from a group of people who only pretend like they are in the military? that makes this about 1000000000000x worse
nobody makes fun of the Army or Navy traditions, b/c they are the Army and Navy and people respect that
A&M has a bunch of glorified boy scouts who like to pretend they are in the military- and yet that is the group of people who shaped your schools traditions?
Dont Ask Dont Tell I guess... what happens at yell practice STAYS at yell practice
