well obviously, but I'm not allowed to even insinuate that because ole miss fans will accuse me of being "butthurt". Just wanted to see if that statement in the article seemed a little odd to anyone else. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Why are you assuming his parents can't buy a house on their own?

Also I can't believe people are focused on that minor detail instead of the actual story.

what's there to discuss about the actual story? It's pretty cut and dry really.

-step dad hit mom
-tunsil hit step-dad, as he rightfully should have
-was arrested, will get off with no punishment legal or otherwise because he doesn't deserve any, he did the right thing

did i miss anything?

Yeah, did step-dad get arrested? Props to the kid for protecting his mom.

Y'all sure have come to some exhaustive conclusions based on one short article.

I would like to hear from some of the Erectile Dysfunction crowd (C34 - AKA Coonassdawg) about the rumors they spun yesterday?

**edit: got to give props to Henry, I liked your pun & stole it.

From OM 247

Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has released the following statement regarding junior left tackle Laremy Tunsil: "We can confirm that Laremy Tunsil turned himself in and was arrested for a misdemeanor, domestic violence simple assault. The incident occurred Thursday night and involves Laremy defending his stepfather. Laremy realizes he could have handled it differently but I am proud of him for standing up for his mother and protecting his family. Laremy and his mother have also pressed charges against the stepfather. As we gather more facts, we will act and make decisions accordingly

Didn't anyone read the article. The step dad shoved the mom, not punched. On the next page I'm sure it will escalate into being shot or stabbed.

If the story, as currently told, is true - then good for the kid. Something is odd, though. Why was Tunsil arrested, but his stepdad wasn't? Seems that the first dude arrested would be the one who hit or pushed a woman.

I disagree. If his mom didn't touch him and he just shoved her then he got what he deserved.

Obviously it had to be a big shove. I don't think the mama would be pressing charges against her husband otherwise. Hell, the dude probably has hit her before.

Domestic Violence is generally charged when there are marks or proof. I'm sure there was plenty of proof that LT's fist smashed that a-hole's face. Pushing could very well leave no marks..

What seems odd? Stepfather shove Mom and LT pummels him which causes obvious injury. If Stepfather presses the issue (which it sounds like he did) charges have to be pressed and LT turns himself in. Now LT's Mom is pressing charges against Stepfather. Long-story short is the kid did nothing to be ashamed of & will likely be handled internally.

As for the comments about his Mom moving to Oxford...if you are a single parent with 2 kids at the same College and have a job that is easily "transferable" would you not move to be close to your kids? I would but my job is tied to a geographic area & the relationships there.

Okay, but why is Tunsil turning himself in and not the Stepfather now that the story has come out? If it has been established that the Stepfather pushed his mother, why is he not turning himself in? Again, something is odd here.
