Right now? No. Bama doesn't "seem like a playoff team."

Let's see what happens this weekend.

It’s not about this weekend. It’s just that, regardless of what happens this weekend, y’all dont look like Bama.

Like I said, I don't like our chances against any of the current contenders. Doesn't mean Bama won't, or shouldn't, get in if everything breaks their way.

It’s just funny that you’re touting a win over Fresno St. that’s all. Oh, and you lost to Auburn by double digits and we beat them, so there’s that.

You don’t have to like it, but if Fresno St. beats Boise St. this Saturday, they will be the MWC Champs and finish the season ranked inside the CFB Playoff Top 25, and it will absolutely be a resume builder for us.

Our team has the best loss of any team in the country, and we haven’t lost to any unranked teams - much less by 31 points. We don’t “seem like a playoff team,” but you - nor anyone else spouting that nonsense - has provided a single rational argument for why a team who lost by 31 to an unranked team in November should be in over us.

Is there where we’re at? Bama touting a win over Fresno State?

Strange days man.

Right. I’ve only provided great arguments for why an undefeated team - Wisconsin - should get in over you.

Hang on bro, Wisky hasn’t played Fresno State.

Clearly knocks them down a level or two. Get with the program...

Absolutely no one has argued against the idea that undefeated Wisconsin should get in over Bama.

If they beat OSU, they should.

You joke, but they’re better than 11 of the 12 teams Wisconsin has played so far.

I think most of us realize that this is one of the weaker Bama teams of the Saban era. Bama loses a lot to the NFL every year but most realized that the 2017 draft on the defensive side of the ball was going make the 2017 defense interesting.

Defensive players drafted:

Humphrey - 1st round
Allen - 1st round
Foster - 1st round
Anderson - 2nd round
Tomlinson - 2nd round
Williams - 3rd round
Jackson - 4th round

That's a lot on one side of the ball, unprecedented by Alabama standards for sure. Then combine the heavy injuries on the defensive side of the ball in 2017 and I can certainly understand why they "don't look like Bama." We've become accustomed to Alabama essentially not going through rebuilding years like every other team, but I'm willing to give them one every once in a while and if the rebuilding year results in 11-1 type seasons with no championship (conference or otherwise) then I'm okay with that.

The offense is a little more troubling. I think the turnover at OC and not really having an identify/knowing how to use Jalen Hurts has been a big problem, but not one that can't be corrected. Not sure if the combination of Daboll as OC and Hurts as QB will work so I would not be surprised to see a change at one or the other unless Daboll can figure out how to use Hurts skill set.

With all that, Bama is still 11-1 and at least has an outside shot at making a 4th consecutive CFP with a couple of "upsets" this week, although I wouldn't argue much if it didn't happen. I'll let one year outside of the CFP slide before I write Saban and company off for good.

Today Bama fans taught me that Fresno State would go 11-1 if this was their schedule:

vs Utah State
@FAU
vs BYU
vs Northwestern
@ Nebraska
vs Purdue
vs Maryland
@ Illinois
@ Indiana
vs Iowa
vs Michigan
@ Minnesota

Seems legit.

You’re right on all accounts. Bama is still really good even when they are not great. It also helps that the SEC is in the midst of a really down year.

Fresno would probably go 8-4 with Wisconsin’s schedule.
