This is good. Clemson can only watch film on Kiffins offense. This is an advantage for the tide

Yes, firing your offensive coordinator a week away from the national championship game for a guy who lost his last job for drinking at work is exactly what you want to do.

I thought I read somewhere that Sark wasn't allowed to have contact with the team during the season.

Oh I've been reading them lately

That's what I'm laughing at

It wasn't 2-3 months ago that he was "a great offensive mind and gets the best out of game manager QBs"

The frick I didn't want him out of here. Hated him from the get go and thought Bama won in spite of that tard. Bad timing though. Means that Saban thinks they cannot win without a solid offensive showing next Monday.

It is clear to anybody that does not have crimson glasses that he was out one way or the other after the season.

What a boss though. Guy is a stone cold machine.....

I guess we will find out just how good Sark is. He's got 1 week to get his offense, led by a true freshman QB, ready to play in the national title game.
He's been coaching them all year.

This sure bothers you. At least you are admitting that Bama fans were ready for him to go. That is a start.

If Sark does well and the getsoffense going this game then he has got some balls of steel. Especially with what he has been through and the sudden transition to top dog.

The Bama posters on this board have been on the Lane Train since he accepted the position. Suddenly the team is better off with the OC leaving right before the NC game. It's hysterical.

What were you doing Saturday? You definitely weren't watching the Washington Bama game.

So you think bama will install a completely different O in one week? Even bama fans can appreciate this spin.

He's not allowed to coach in his position, only analyze, correct?

Lane has been taking heat for all of a couple of weeks

Surely you can understand how those of us from the outside looking in view this

Y'all touted him as this offensive mastermind since day 1 and suddenly and underwhelming CFP offensively called game means firing him a week out from the NC is a good thing

Correct UNLESS one of the nine assistants who are permitted to work with players leaves the staff. In this case, Kiffin is out, so Sark is replacing him. There's a clause that allows a coach to join the list in case of "extreme duress" or a replacement.

This link [link=(lays it out)]https://www.seccountry.com/alabama/alabama-football-steve-sarkisian-college-football-playoff-lane-kiffin-nick-saban[/link]

NCAA Bylaw 11 governs the amount and type of coaches a program can use, and what their individual duties can be. As it stands, each team is allowed nine full-time assistant coaches — a rule Nick Saban has called to change to allow the addition of a 10th coach, presumably for special teams. At the beginning of each year, the head coach signs a form declaring who those nine coaches will be. He can’t change that roster until one of those coaches leaves, except in cases of extreme duress. Those nine assistants, plus four graduate assistants, the strength coach and the head coach, are the only staff members permitted to “participate in coaching” during practices, games and workouts. Presumably, Sarkisian’s observation of practice wouldn’t violate this bylaw, so long as he doesn’t work with players individually or as a group. The restrictions also extend to recruiting. Off-campus recruiting is only allowed by the head coach, the nine assistants and one of the four GAs. That means the incoming offensive players at Alabama can’t be recruited by Sarkisian, despite his having established relationships with several Alabama recruits. The early enrollees can’t be recruited by him now and can’t have much contact with him during the coming semester, until Lane Kiffin’s employment at Alabama has officially ended. According to the bylaws, he can’t evaluate incoming players or make phone calls to potential players until that time.

that does not mean firing your OC days before the NC is a good thing

The guy knows the entire playbook and is a good play caller. I think it's a good thing as many people were thinking Kiffin would cost us the game with another stinker like the UW game.
