How is this even possible with a head coach that has a background on offense and played the position? Not to mention how well LSU recruits. That's a baffling stat.

It is at the very least interesting to consider. I'm honestly not sure what the deal could be.

It seems every time LSU has had a potential 1st round pick on the oline something bad seems to happen to him.

Chris Faulk had that horrible knee injury a couple seasons ago for example.

Searles and Studrawa were both pretty meh recruiters/coaches. The guy we have now is a step up.

That said... LSU leads the SEC in NFLDraft picks from 05-14 and not really close

Yep. Ben Wilkerson was on his way as well but injuries really derailed his career.

It is bizarre, even Saban didn't have any first rounders here, and he's churned out a few at Bama (and another in the works with Cam Robinson). He did bring in Andrew Whitworth who has had a great career in Cincinnati. Ben Wilkerson was on his way until he fricked up his knee

Les has churned out couple of good NFL o-lineman recently in Joe Barksdale and Trai Turner. Vadal Alexander and Jerald Hawkins could join them as well next year.

Wasn't JaMarcus Russell drafted as an OL in the first?

Not his fault Oakland played him out of position.,,

You can take the boy out of Alabama, but you can't take the Purple Drank out of Alabama.
