This is a touch misleading. We've elected to renovate the stadium this way. The thing is, the enormity of the project couldn't possibly fit in a tighter schedule lest the location is moved.

So an Overhang doesn't matter in the scheme of sound propagation. To maximize sound propagation in a stadium you want a cavern not a bowl. Real easy design the think about maximize safe angle of the stadium seats and build from there.
