Kiffin would not go to Auburn right now if they wanted him.

At this point in time, it would be a lateral move at best for Kiffin to go to Auburn. Path to the playoff is much harder from Auburn because he would have to play UGA in the regular season instead of Vandy. Similar schedules aside from that.

Plus factor in the other points:
-Already has an established program at Ole Miss, would have to do a rebuild at Auburn.
-Money is similar
-both are in small southern college towns. I think Kiffin wants big city.

Auburn has proven they can compete for titles in the current era and get better players than Ole Miss. But, that also comes with higher expectations.

Makes no sense for Kiffin to go to Auburn. Lateral move for him. He will try and build something special at Ole Miss or go to a different P5 school like Texas.

Judging by the board's reaction, Kiffin is who fans of other teams would fear the most. I'm sure it will be someone no one has even thought about but clearly the conference worries about Kiffin at Auburn.

Every Auburn coach in the last 40 years has had an undefeated season, played for a national championship, or won a national championship. Except Brian Harsin.

Ole miss to Auburn is not a lateral move in any sane world..

Coach Kiffin is the only conceivable way such a distortion could be reached

Ole Miss lets Kiffin do what he wants..he can go to Boca at any time....doesn't have to do that much alumni stuff....he is the brand at Ole Miss....a lot of schools won't let that fly.....Auburn and their boosters sure won't.

He's probably the most sought after semi available coach in CFB right now. Who's in a tier above him?

I don't know if Kiffin would go or not

I do know that Kiffin wants the spotlight and he'll get much more of it in the Iron Bowl and DSOR against Saban and Kirby than he will barking at Alabama and A&M from Oxford, Mississippi

Good. Let OM pay his buyout next year instead of Auburn.

I mean, one is at UCF and will probably get another shot at a bigger job if he wants it (and makes plenty of money).

Another is a US Senator

It's not all bad

“Auburn also paid $5M to buy out Kevin Steele when they hired Harsin, so that's $41.5M in buyouts (Gus/Steele/Harsin) even before you get to all the other assistants from two different staffs.”

Pretty sure paying buyouts is the one thing Auburn is best at

No he doesn’t. This is the best it’s gonna be for Ole Miss. it will never be any better than this year for them.
