Saban reels kiffin in and makes him run the ball inside. His natural instinct is to be pass heavy and take unnecessary risk.

Anybody else feel this way?

Not really.

I'm mostly feeling hungry.

I wouldn't say a disaster, but I do think he benefits from Saban and vice versa. Kiffin is a good offensive coordinator in his own right though.

Its kinda like when you see someone leaning back in a chair you know is unstable. You could warn them and stop it from happening, but sometimes it just more enjoyable to let nature run its course.

So lets not raise too many red flags and let to bidding war begin. Sometimes its best to not spoil the punchline even though you've heard and seen it all before.

Hope this doesn't happen. If he learned how to run a program from his time with Saban he'll do just fine at UT.

I think Kiffin will be just fine whatever he decides to do. I hope he comes back as Alabama's head coach after Saban finally hangs it up in 2027.

Yeah, we sure pounded the ball between the tackles Saturday, didn't we?

I think Saban helps keep Kiffin in check, but not when it comes to play calling or game-planning. It's all the other extracurricular nonsense he's always gotten into that made so many people hate him to begin with. We'll find out at some point if Lane has matured at all or if he's still that guy.

Yes, he has an ego problem and running the ball just doesnt show off his creative playcalling and play design.

O will let Kiffin do whatever he wants as far as calling all the plays goes. So yes, a disaster.

I don't think Kiffen can be a good HC at a major school.

I do think Saban reigns Kiffin a good bit which is beneficial to the team but to say that it's one sided is insane. Saban has benefited from Kiffin's creativity in his passing philosophy and some of his running schemes with the HUNH. It has allowed Saban to adapt to the times and stay ahead of the DCs. On the other hand you have the two other teams (LSU/AU) with the best opportunity to compete with Bama from a roster standpoint stripping down there offenses every year to a vanilla base of the same offense they have been running for 5 years...it is insanity!

Not for this reason.

Kiffin without Saban will continue to be one of if not the best OCs in the business, but without Saban Lane Kiffin has no reason to even try to suppress Joey Freshwater and THAT is why it is a disaster waiting to happen.

Exactly, even with Saban, he has still had his moments. God help whoever gets him without a dictator hovering over him.
