This is actually an illuminati hand sign. A lot of players in the NBA and people in the mainstream music industry have been seen using them, as well as powerful politicians around the world.

Holy shite people, it's making a number 3 and putting it up to your eye when you make a 3 pointer. Nobody "started it", it's not like someone figured out some complex astrophysics problem.
