We are definitely much improved, and on our way back. But it will be next year before we need to start talking too much smack.
I'm figuring 2nd or 3rd in the West this year.

Our inside presence will be a little better this year with Marshawn back (knock on wood) and Coty Clarke in addition to Mickelson.
Next year when we add Portis, Kingsley and Alandise Harris to the mix inside will help a great deal.
Biggest problem next year will be replacing B.J. Young.
As this season starts, remember the name 'Qualls'.

I was referring more to the fact there is no West.

yeah, and I hate that crap. Among the 'West' teams (you know who they are), we would finish 2nd or 3rd.
ETA: Don't want to go too far out on the limb, but I'm thinking with a little luck, we could finish as the highest 'West' team, 4th or so overall. Kentucky, Florida and most likely Tennessee will finish ahead of us. We could dogfight with Mizzou for that 4th spot.

And honestly, I think among those former West guys you will probably manage at least 2nd. Especially now that Mississippi State is in the shape it's in.

I'd have to see you guys first but I think it's certainly not a stretch at all.
