At some point, UK's lunatic fan base will decrease the fmv of the franchise.

Not in more than a half century. The Cats are the Kentuckians' symbolic army. Sat in a Louisville bar one night (pouring Maker's down) until about three with a UK professor. He explained UK's "us against the world" attitude.

Probably the biggest dichotomy between rich and poor of any state. And nearly all watch the Cats. And they used to listen to the Cats before electricity was available.

It is a helluva story. And I loved every minute. I don't care much for the "one and done" method of today, but over the decades, Kentucky has earned every dime it's worth today.

I admire the hell out them.

Replace Kentucky with West Virginia and your statement would be true

That chip Kentucky has is 1000 times bigger in West Virginia

Where they do not have a huge tobacco company, alcohol manufacturers and horse farms

Kentucky is not a poor state compared to West Virginia

Overall, I agree, but you need to go out by the Bell Tower and practice reading. Then learn to spell "dichotomy."

Kentucky is next to Texas and Tennessee when it comes to country music too. And the best bourbon in the world comes from there

But so what. Take a drive some day through Harlan County and just continue north. I have. Every part of Kentucky is not Louisville or Lexington or Frankfort.

But nearly 100 percent of all those people are Cats. And the love rivals that for Bama or Ohio State. Might even surpass.

Kentuckians are a proud people. And the Cats, in a way, personify this.

The value as a pro franchise wouldn't be any where close to that because pro sports wouldn't let them clearly cheat . They get the best players money can buy every year but don't have much to show for or , so I don't see how they have such a good valu.

Today? Yes, indeed. But there is still a lot of that old-time thinking in Kentucky. And you are better off with it.

The whole damn thing is stupid for comparing us to pro franchises. Not sure what your whole rant just meant.

This professor analyzes the value of programs based on what they would be worth if sold as a pro franchise

There is no telling how dominate Kentucky would be if NCAA basketball had the same rule as football to keep player in college 3 years after high school.

With players leaving freshman and sophomore year they have to rely strictly on great recruiting and very young players. I would love to see this program with junior star players.

Not any more. Not even best in SEC. Georgia and Texas A&M have better programs.
