I know, and you said it already in the other thread. Everyone knows it, so you might as well own it.

It doesn't just happen during basketball season, some people are obsessed thru all seasons.

True, but you guys do have B-ball.

You could be like LSU and suck at the 3 majors...

Classic transference and displacement

Stonhog envys UK's basketball power

Displaces inability to succeed in football on a lesser flea to make self feel better.

What I love about UK fans is by game 2 its wait until basketball starts. They are a basketball school and even if they can put a decent product on the field it will still be second.

And there it is. For this reason and this reason alone, we don't belong in the SEC.

It should be as obvious to every outside observer, even Stonedhog, as it is to every UK football-first fan that this is a permanent situation. The battle between the football and basketball programs was decided 65 years ago.

Forevermore, this photo will represent the outcome of that battle:

Rupp won. Football lost.

That's just the way it is and the way it will always be. The basketball fans at UK will make sure of that.

Coach Bryant won there. You coulda had both football and basketball. He proved it. Hell, he won the SEC championship and 3 polling systems claimed UK the national champions in 1950 for ending Oklahoma's 31 game winning streak in the Sugar Bowl but y'all wouldn't get off Rupp's dick long enough to give Bryant the time of day. Y'all don't give a shite about football. You had the best coach in both sports and you ran one off by ignoring him so I have little sympathy for UK football. What's wrong with wanting to be good in both? I so hope Johnson can turn our basketball around.

UK can win in football, but it does take the right coach. I had hoped Stoops was the guy to come from the assistant ranks and be a HC, now I'm doubting his ability, just like Joker. At the time, it seemed like a good hire.

I think for UK to make a statement in football, it's going to have to lure in a big name coach and just throw money at him.

And you are the second winningest basketball program in the SEC but have never done better than an Elite Eight.

I don't think I'd go throwing stones when talking about not nurturing potential quality programs in your athletic department.

Stoops will be a hot DC on the market after this season.
