Kentucky Football just took a cool step forward with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). The 15 Club, one of Kentucky Football’s collectives, is launching “500 Strong,” a VIP membership program featuring unique and exclusive experiences. The first of those is pretty impressive. On May 10, members of 500 Strong will be treated to a private concert by Grammy Award-winning artist John Legend at Central Bank Center. Legend is the uncle of Anthony Brown-Stephens, a sophomore wide receiver on the Kentucky Football team. Tickets to “An Evening With John Legend” will only be available to 500 Strong members and space is limited, with reservations closing on April 30. “We are excited to launch the 500 Strong Membership Program within The Kentucky 15 Club,” said Ryan Miller CEO of The Kentucky 15 Club in a press release. “This initiative represents a unique opportunity for fans to engage with the University of Kentucky Football Program in a meaningful way while enjoying unforgettable experiences. ‘An Evening with John Legend,’ presented by Lexus of Lexington, is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey for our members.”

FWIW, Legend’s nephew plays for the FB team so it makes sense from that perspective.

Haters going to hate.
Supposedly Legend and Vince Marrow are close friends.

If I were to guess, not a damn penny considering his nephew is on the team.

I don't know anything about John Legend but I'm just fricking happy we finally have an official NIL collective for football. It was the fricking wild west with like 3 different NIL's you could fund before.

I was going to say Marrow was at Legend’s mom’s birthday party recently so that makes sense.
I like some of his music, so I'm not bothered by the performance. That said, they should shoot for someone like Chris Stapleton (a UK fan) next time around given the demo of the fanbase.

That would defeat the purpose of a benefit concert. The real question is: How much of the money raised is for NIL, and how much is "for the morning beer buzz before a noon kickoff?" We know Stoops demands both from the Kentucky faithful.

Would have been a better choice

Summer touring usually fires up around the time of the NIL concert so it makes sense they wouldn’t necessarily be available this time. But I’d be happy to see any of those guys.
ETA: Or some kind of exclusive event associated with the Derby could’ve been fun too.
I’m just throwing stuff out there for future since this was obviously a recent launch/didn’t have as much time for planning something like that.

Isn’t Texas doing something similar with a concert or festival to raise nil?
While Kentucky and Texas make big boy moves the Uaa is slinging $18 hot dogs at baseball games to build a new stadium kitchen at the swamp

To get in the John Legend concert, you have to join the 500 club. The cost to get in the club is $10,000/year…according to Matt Jones, they have over 200 joined and the expect easily the remaining 300 to sell quick.
This is going to raise over $4.5 million for the UK football NIL fund just with this club.

with John Legend comes Pfizer. You can enjoy that nonsense. Whether he has family or not associated with UK, he is horrible.
