KY will hire their 3rd or 4th option as coach, then claim he was their top target all along.

Bear Bryant wouldn't even return our call. That's how low we've sunk.

one major difference is timing. The 2023-24 recruiting season was all but over when Saban announced his retirement, putting any new coach at an automatic disadvantage. The new UK hire will have a normal recruiting/coaching cycle to work with, so would give them a leg up in the situation compared to Bama.

I think 2 days. According to media sources DeBoer was the only guy Byrne actually met with

In the story Chris Low did on the whole Saban retirement/DeBoer hiring saga, I’m pretty sure Byrne stated that DeBoer and Norvell were the two primary targets for Alabama, but DeBoer is the only candidate Byrne actually met with.

Wasn't Cal Arkansas's third or fourth option?

"According to ESPN's Chris Lowe, Alabama Athletic Director Greg Byrne was focused on Norvell and Washington's Kalen DeBoer from the beginning of the coaching search. Both candidates fit the standard as proven names who had led their respective programs to success while displaying an ability to develop talent. Byrne even had "serious conversations" with Norvell and DeBoer the day after Saban retired.

Per the report, Byrne flew to Seattle that Thursday to meet with DeBoer in person while also having another talk with Norvell. The strong pursuit of Norvell led to 'fear among Florida State officials' that he was close to saying yes to the Crimson Tide on Friday morning. Hours later, Athletic Director Michael Alford confirmed that the program was keeping its head coach."

That list you quoted was written by retards and believed by retards.

DeBoer is coach at Bama because Saban’s top 3, Norvell, Lanning, and Kiffin, all said no. They realized the only reason Bama isn’t a dumpster fire and losing recruits left and right to UGA and splitting recruits with Auburn is because of Saban. No one wanted to make a lateral move at best.

Bama isn’t totally fricked but will not be a powerhouse without the next Saban.

Let me think about this: poll of ESPN college football writers, or random LSU fan on a troll board.

I guess I’ll go with ESPN college football writers.

There is a huge gray area between those 2 things.

Also. ESPN college football writers. Retards. Putting DeBoer with one national championship appearance and limited experience as a HC at #2, and no BK? Makes a lot of sense.

Like I said, retards believe it, and retards wrote it.

If you believe Kiffin was EVER a candidate for Bama then you are misinformed beyond big time. He was way down the Bama list and I mean he was about a want as much as Kevin sumlin.

Bama BB finished higher in the polls than football did. That is a first.
