The officials and all the foul shots... shades of the 2011 NYE game against UofL. I literally fell asleep for that.
Edited to add: just remembered I was deathly ill for that so falling asleep during the UofL game is less drastic

And what's worse is nobody gains an advantage from it. Kentucky can't get into a rhythm offensively and Mizzou is going to hurt on the depth end.
I hate it when refs get like that. If it was an all out brawl, sure I understand. Otherwise it's so so counter productive.

While we all suffer through this long, slow slog towards the end, what ever happened to Quin Snyder? Didn't he have like a Sewanee-level coke habit?

Belle, and other Kentucky fans, question:
How do you all feel about the cycle of one and dones? Im not flaming but honestly curious. I know winning is awesome and shite and I'm unashamedly jealous of Kentucky basketball history, but is it ever hard to get behind players etc when you have such a high turnover?

This is ridiculous. This game won't be over until midnight if the refs don't back off.

Some of my favorite players have been some of our one and dones. Personally I don't have a problem with it. I'd rather have seen them in blue and white then not have seen them at all. And Cal has still mixed guys in like Miller and Poythress who have been multi year guys (WCS I don't really count in that because I think he's gone if he doesn't get injured in the tournament).
I do understand that some people don't like it. But neither Jamal Mashburn or Rex Chapman were 4 year guys either.
ETA: And I say this having sat through Tubby's decline on the backs of 4 year guys because he wouldn't recruit big time players.

Do I wish we had longer-tenured players? Yes. Would I sacrifice quality in order to have that? No. The keys I think are really (a) following the preseason, etc and all that, plus (b) the Kentucky media focuses on basketball in a way that's kind of unheard of. As a result, you end up getting to know the freshmen more quickly.
I found it hard to support Daniel Orton.

Orton is quite literally the only Cal guy that I wish would've just fricked off. But a lot of that was his Dad being ridiculous enough that he thought he should play over Demarcus Cousins.

Unpopular opinion: I don't like WCS. Some of the stuff I've heard from some younger friends at UK is pretty unflattering (Moreso than normal). That said, it's not like I wish ill on the kid; I'm just more neutral as opposed to unabashedly in his corner.

Thats cool. Thanks for the answers you two. Its more about the Kentucky brand than it is about the individuals. As a St Louis Cardinals fan I completely get that.

Honestly, if it's anyone but Cal it doesn't work.

I get it too but as a Cards fan, as much as I can respect and appreciate someone like Berkman or Beltre, they will never be Stan or Ozzie or Willie or even Edmonds or Pujols because they were just not here long enough.

Yeah I think this is right. As much as I sometimes get exasperated with his branding/repetitive stuff, there's no one else who could do it.

See for me, I don't see it that way. I love Anthony Davis as much as I loved a Chuck Hayes. Really that 2012 team had such a personality.

GOD I LOVE MKG. His stuttering thing just made him even more endearing.

I hear ya and not disagreeing with ya. Well, I am, I'm just not saying one is right or wrong. Comparing the 2 different sports and pros versus college probably isn't the best comparison on my part either.

Absolutely. And I'll always have a soft spot for Boogie too. Just because he was the second coming of Jamaal Magloire in terms of nastiness.
