Uh... It's extremely uncommon in the middle of the season

True!

I guess I assumed he hired him for after the season or something

Yes, that part is very odd. The story doesn't say when he was hired or when he'll be working with him. If they hired him now to work after the season's over then it is normal. If they're starting now then that's bizarre.

Um, watch out for the glass walls and roof when throwing stones.

Blake Sims used one over the summer.

So did McCarron and Coker

I know about Mccarron going to that QB Country idiot here in Mobile and I didn't like that either. The guy sucked balls at Southern Miss so what makes anyone think he's worth a crap. My point was going to a camp over the summer and hiring someone probably full time are worlds apart and, for the record, if I were a head coach, I would not want my QB going to any of these clowns to be fricked with. They should be able to get all of the coaching they need right there on campus; it's why teams have a QB coach.

Right. Going throw on the beach for two days in June with Whitfield is not at all comparable to hiring a QB coach mid season and announcing it. Got to defend that trademark though. #YESSIR

Salisbury Speaketh

quote:

“He went through a three-game stretch where he got the hell kicked out of him by three damn good teams. …Let’s keep this also in perspective, if you’re a quarterback on that team, you think you have to make every play because they can’t stop anybody, that’s number one.

“Number two, 11 dropped balls in a game, isn’t very good.

Number three, they’re young, they gotta protect and get a little more stout and physical, and Jake knows this. You gotta protect the guy and give them the best chance to succeed. They don’t want to play conservative, they want to spread it out and get rolling.

Obvious comment is obvious, but the DC and other coaches can't enjoy seeing that in print.

It'll be interesting to see how Sumlin reacts if SS's technique goes against what the aggies are teaching him. If his head is messed up now, just imagine when he's trying to process 2 different systems in his head while dodging a blitzing DE.
