The short slant route into the teeth of the defense on first and goal at the end of the half was stupidest call in history. First and goal inside the 5, 20 seconds and all three timeouts left and he calls the riskiest pass in football.
The refs are the real reason the game was close. But Briles is a big reason the refs were able to make it close.

They are but for a moment Arkansas was the more talented team. Arkansas was depleted from losing 26 players and some of the starters like RB Rocket Sanders didn't play in the second half.

Kansas had help from bad calls, a very conservative Arkansas offense and still lost.
