K State could barely beat Iowa State, don't see them staying close.

Watching the KSU-ISU game, ISU's defensive line was flat out beating KSU up front, and KSU was able to survive because they have a decently mobile QB. With the strength and depth of Auburn's D-line, by the send half it will be almost impossible for those fat Big 12 boys to get any push. KSU will be lucky to score after halftime, and you don't get shutout for a half and still outgun Gus Malzhan

I'll bet Auburn will score more than 17 points in every game they play this year. Hell if a team holds Auburn to under 28, they are doing great and have a good shot to win.

Sometimes I forget how amazing it was for Gus to turnaround that 2012 offense. He's the next Spurrier - he's going to own some defenses. Can Ellis Johnson develop the type of D needed to win the SEC? Who will be the team that challenges Gus? Spurrier dealt Tenn in the East and Bama in the West. I suspect AU will deal with Bama in the West and Georgia in the East. Both on the road this year! If Gus slays Amen Corner this year - you snitches better kneel down. Word!

Auburn will never have one of the top defenses under Malzahn. The type of offense he runs is simply not conducive to having a great defense considering the defense will be on the field 2/3 of the game. Great defensive coordinators don't want to be coaching a team like that.

However, he will of course have great offenses as long as he is there.

I do think Auburn's defense is going to be their undoing in at least a game or two this season, but it won't be against K-State.

This board is going to be amazing when Auburn loses its first game.

October 4th cannot get here quick enough!

wait... you think Auburns offense under Malzahn typically only holds a 20 minute TOP?

Alabama 2013 TOP 32:32 avg. time of possessions
Au Top 2013 30:22 avg. time of possessions

Its a myth that spread teams wear their defense out, so Bama holds the ball an extra 12-15 seconds per possession more than AU that should rest up that defense.

Auburn 42-24. SEC rolls over the big 12. I also look for UT to look alive versus the Sooners.

Auburn's run game is vastly overrated after 2 cupcake teams. Now that they are playing a real opponent, I expect their rushing numbers to come back to earth and maybe get over the 100 yd mark. Kstate has a way better backfield too, so they just might run the clock out the whole game. auburn would be lucky to have the ball for 10 mins.
